Leesa McGregor and her husband Trevor, have always been passionate about forward thinking education and seeing the world. As the founder of a children’s education company and a mother of three (including a 10-year-old son), she was immediately intrigued when she first heard about Boundless Life.
In July 2025, Leesa and her youngest son joined Boundless Life’s one-month summer camp program in the picturesque Tuscan town of Pistoia. That experience turned out to be everything they hoped for and more.
Now, as the NEXT summer approaches, Leesa and family are preparing to return to Pistoia to relive the magic of that Italian summer.
This is the story of what drew them to Boundless Life, what made their Tuscany experience stand out, and why they can’t wait to do it all over again.
Discovering a New Paradigm of Learning & Travel
Leesa first discovered Boundless Life through a friend’s recommendation and it immediately struck a chord. As someone deeply invested in children’s education, she was excited to find a community that combined quality learning with global exploration.
“I have a children’s education company myself. So I was very excited that someone was carving out this new paradigm of education,” Leesa says.
Like many parents, she had always dreamed of traveling the world with her kids without compromising their schooling. Boundless Life seemed like the perfect answer.
“For many parents, we always have this dream of traveling the world with our kids. And so to me, Boundless felt like the perfect mix of that… of the travel, the education, the curriculum, while having a bit of structure,” she explains.
From the outset, Leesa was impressed by Boundless Life’s vision and approach. “I’m extremely impressed with Boundless,” she notes simply. The concept of a “new paradigm of learning” was deeply resonating.
Boundless Life and Worldschooling
Not only did Boundless Life’s mission appeal to Leesa on paper, it also stood out in practice compared to other worldschooling experiences she had explored.
Leesa and her son had participated in various alternative education and travel programs over the years, from casual worldschool meetups to more well-known programs. “We’ve actually done a lot of different world school programs… And I have to say, hands down, Boundless is the best,” Leesa declares. In fact, her son agreed. “My son loved it the most,” she adds.
When asked what sets Boundless apart from those other hubs, Leesa points to the exceptional organization and community that Boundless Life provides. “Incredibly organized and just high caliber people, high caliber curriculum,” she says, contrasting it with some more free-form travel programs they’d tried.
“I love that Boundless attracts entrepreneurial type people… It attracts a lot of people that are really invested in their children’s future… like really care about creating future leaders and future change makers,” she explains.
In short, the community and culture of parents and children at Boundless were exactly what she’d been looking for: motivated, like-minded families who share a big-picture vision for their children!

A Tuscan Summer to Remember
Leesa and family initially signed up for the one Boundless Life Summer Camp in Tuscany, Italy in July 2025. And how was their time there? Well Leesa describes it as “one of the best months of our lives.” An experience rich with learning, adventure, and friendship.
Each day had a gentle flow that balanced family time, personal time, and group activities. Leesa recalls, describing the easy routine for parents each morning. With the children engaged in their Boundless learning program, while the parents had a chance to catch their breath, often meeting up at a local café or the on-site co-working hub.
Then later in the day, families would come together to explore and soak up the Tuscan culture and lifestyle.
“Those were the highlights… actually connecting with some of the families as well, and the parents getting to spend time together,” Leesa notes. “We did cooking schools, we did vineyards. We had long lunches, you know, with a bit of Chianti. That was really fun,” she adds with a laugh.
The Boundless Life Summer Camp
Beyond the idyllic Tuscan outings, Leesa was also impressed with the educational aspect of the program. As someone with high standards for learning, she appreciated the project-based curriculum that Boundless Life implemented for the children.
“I love the project-based learning. I think the structure of the projects that they got the kids involved with was incredible”.
Her 10-year-old son dove into projects with enthusiasm, a clear sign that the program goes beyond a typical summer camp. “It’s just world class. Completely world class,” Leesa remarks about the overall experience. From the morning classes to the exploratory afternoons, every element of the summer camp hit the mark.
In her view, Boundless struck a perfect balance between structure and freedom; providing a reliable routine and learning framework for the children, at the same time leaving ample room for spontaneous fun and cultural immersion.

The Magic of Pistoia & Why They’re Going Back
Amid all these positives, one aspect of the Boundless summer in Tuscany truly cast a spell on the McGregors: Pistoia itself.
This lesser-known Tuscan town, nestled between Florence and the Apennine mountains, turned out to be an ideal setting for a family adventure. “Pistoia is one of the best spots… it’s such a magic, undiscovered little town and it’s close to everything,” she explains.
Unlike busier tourist hubs, Pistoia offered an authentic Italian experience, quaint, safe, and wonderfully welcoming.
The town’s charm, combined with the supportive Boundless community, made a powerful impression. They loved it so much that returning was an easy decision: “We’re going to go back… just recreate it, you know,” she says of their plans for the upcoming summer.
The family can’t wait to reunite with their favorite gelato shop in the piazza, stroll the streets again, and reconnect with the special place that became their home for a month.
If there was any downside to the Boundless summer camp, it was only that it had to end. The four weeks flew by far too quickly for the McGregor family. “The only thing I would say about the one month was it felt like it was too fast,” Leesa admits.
Coming Back for More Boundless Life
After settling into such a fulfilling experience, no one wanted the experience to be over. The summer camp was so enjoyable that it left them hungry for more. And it was these feelings that ultimately spurred their decision to come back for a second round.
In fact, her family’s positive experience in Pistoia gave them the confidence to explore even more of what Boundless has to offer. Subsequently, the McGregors have mapped out further cohorts! Their 2026 plan includes a spring cohort in Japan, the summer camp in Pistoia, and then a fall cohort in Bali.
The McGregors are proof of the impact a single summer can have. And as Leesa and her family prepare to step off the plane in Italy once more, they know exactly what awaits them – a warm welcome back into the Boundless Life family, and another summer of memories to last a lifetime.
