Trailblazer Education

Our Trailblazer Program blends strong academic foundations with real-world projects, innovative learning environments, and hands-on experiences – fostering confidence, independence, and a passion for discovery.

A Balanced Learning Approach

The Trailblazer Program is built on two core elements that work together to provide a holistic, enriching and immersive educational experience:
1. Boundless Discovery - Place-Based, Experiential Learning
Students learn through hands-on, facilitator-led projects rooted in nature, culture, and community.

They build real-world skills like problem-solving, collaboration, and adaptability, all while developing personalized portfolios that track growth.
2. Academics Studio – Accredited Online Learning
Included in your Boundless tuition is core academic instruction in Math, English, and Science, powered by Crimson Global Academy - a leading, accredited online school offering rigorous UK and US curriculam.

At the Academic Studio in each Boundless location, students are guided by a dedicated Learning Coach who supports their progress, reinforces concepts, and ensures they stay on track — blending academic excellence with real-world application.

***Prefer to use your own curriculum? Families following their own curriculum can still use the Academic Studio with educator support. While we recommend Crimson for its structure and quality, a tuition discount is available for those who opt out.
Place-Based Learning  in Action
Place-Based Learning is a key element of Boundless Discovery, bringing learning to life through meaningful, real-world engagement. It consists of the interconnected components:
Connection Time – A daily opportunity for students to build community, set intentions, and reflect on learning.
Place-Based Experiences – Facilitator-led, student-centered projects that immerse learners in the local environment, connecting academic concepts to real-world applications.
Boundless Time Projects – Student-led, passion-driven projects where learners explore personal interests using the design-thinking process.
Boundless Forum – A student-led, educator-supported space where learners collaboratively manage their Education Center community. It serves as a safe and inclusive platform for students to:
- Plan events & generate ideas
- Discuss & resolve interpersonal or practical issues
- Bring forward any topic they feel is important.
Beyond fostering problem-solving and collaboration, Boundless Forum empowers students to find and use their voices, cultivating a strong sense of civic responsibility and leadership. To ensure broad participation, the roles of President and Secretary rotate, allowing multiple students to experience leading discussions, reviewing actions, and setting agendas—key skills for global citizens and future leaders.

FAQS

What makes the Trailblazer (TB) program different from traditional education?
A: The Trailblazer program emphasizes real-world, experiential learning. Students engage in meaningful place-based projects, solve real problems, collaborate  with peers, and develop future-ready skills such as critical thinking, adaptability,   cross-cultural communication, creativity, leadership, executive functioning, goal setting, time and project management. Students build real portfolios that demonstrate their skills and growth. In partnership with Crimson,
What does the online classes through Crimson look like?
Included in Boundless’ monthly tuition is accredited online learning for three core subjects that are Math, English, Science. Students join live small-group classes with only other TB students, each delivered for 2 hours per subject per week by expert CGA teachers. Each student’s level is determined through a diagnostic test, ensuring placement that matches their learning needs and goals. Upon completing one Boundless cohort, students earn 0.5 academic credit per core subjects (Math, English, Science) through CGA.

While we try our best to align the cohort dates to ensure students get an appropriate break in between cohorts, students may be expected to continue outstanding CGA classes or asynchronously during mid-cohort breaks, or when EC and parents should support students to stay on track outside of Academic Studio hours.
Is there someone else I could speak with to get a clearer understanding of what academic support my children will receive at TB this coming year?
Yes, you can contact Crimson’s Director of Admissions Howie (h.sexton@cga.school) and Chief of Growth (s.kekutia@cga.school) for more information. Please cc in Thao (thao.ha@boundless.life) from Trailblazer Global Team who can help escalate if necessary.
What are the next steps to get started?
Given that classes are ability-based, the first step to understanding what support your child would need is to complete a placement test with Crimson in order to gain an  understanding into their current level and be placed. If the student needs additional classes beyond what is offered through the Boundless partnership to meet their academic goals, this would need to be arranged directly through Crimson. For placement tests and additional supplementary academic classes (which is separate from what is included in the Boundless tuition), please contact the Svetlana at s.kekutia@cga.school
What is Crimson’s cancellation policy like?
Should you wish to discontinue with the Crimson’s curriculum in the second cohort, a written cancellation notice must be provided by 15th November for September cohort, and 15th March for January cohort.
What does Boundless on-site support for Academic Studios look like?
Through Academic Studios afternoons, Boundless educators provide the structure where students plan, set goals, and receive support from educators to stay on track and take ownership of their learning. We will also manage classroom discipline, as well as troubleshooting technical issues by contacting CGA when necessary.

Our role is to guide students in developing strong time management and self-direction skills, but ultimately, it is the family’s responsibility to monitor their child’s academic progress via Crimson parent portal and ensure they remain on schedule with their chosen learning path. Our educators are not responsible for curriculum delivery or academic instruction.
Can students bring their own curriculum for Academic Studios?
Yes. If students are opting out of Crimson (partial enrollment is not supported), families can bring any curriculum that works best for their child. Our educators will collaborate with families to help ensure students have a supportive and structured learning environment that promotes better engagement and growth in their individual learning journeys.Through Academic Studios afternoons, Boundless educators provide the structure where students plan, set goals, and receive support from educators to stay on track and take ownership of their learning. Which subjects do students need to take in order to join Academic Studio at the EC?
During Academic Studio, students should cover core academic subjects, typically Math, English, and Science, using their family’s chosen online curriculum. However, if parents have specific online programs or courses they would like their child to follow, we’re open to collaborating and adapting as needed. This 2-hour daily block is built into the Education Centre schedule and is the only time in the day formally allocated for academics. Any academic work not completed during Academic Studio will need to be done at home, and the amount of outside work will vary depending on the child’s pace and learning plan.

It is important to understand that the rest of the Trailblazer day is dedicated to Boundless Discovery (including place-based learning, field trips, Boundless Time, Endeavor Time, Connection Time and Boundless Forum) which require commitment to the full daily schedule. Missing these components may impact a student’s ability to develop and be assessed on the key soft skills and competencies cultivated during these experiences.
Can students do half days and work with a tutor for the rest of the time?
This is handled on a case-by-case basis. We encourage students to fully participate in Academic Studios to benefit from educator support, structure, and peer interaction. However, if a family has private tutoring arranged, parents can coordinate directly with the educator to arrange a half-day schedule. The €450 reimbursement for opting out of Crimson remains the same for all families, regardless of schedule.
Will my child still be prepared for university?
More and more universities are moving beyond test scores and traditional transcripts to evaluate students more holistically. They increasingly value project-based learning, strong personal portfolios, global competencies, soft skills, and real-world experiences, all of which are core to the Trailblazer experience. While families are responsible for selecting and managing their child’s academic curriculum, Trailblazers students graduate with a rich body of work that showcases their owner of leadership, creativity, problem-solving, and adaptability. These are the kinds of qualities that help students stand out in university applications and prepare them for success in an ever-changing world.
How is the social experience for students?
One of the greatest strengths of the Trailblazer experience is the opportunity to foster a strong sense of community and build meaningful social connections in a global context. During the research and feedback phases of their projects, they collaborate and exchange ideas, learning how to listen, contribute, and grow together. Students also have the opportunity to interact with peers from around the world, participate in shared field trips, engage with the local community. These connections not only help to build meaningful friendships but also foster cultural agility, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
Do you have recommendations for other online curriculum?
Given the range of learning needs, we understand that families will benefit from having the flexibility to choose a curriculum that best meets their child’s needs. While Boundless is not currently officially affiliated with another provider, please review our vetted choice here Online Academic Providers Guide
