Morning sunlight sneaks in through the shutters as church bells ring out over Pistoia’s cobbled streets. Welcome to a day in the life of one Boundless Life family in Tuscany, Italy!

Morning: School Bells and Strolls Through Town
For families living in this Tuscan town, c bells signal that the school day is about to begin. Parents and children step outside and walk together to the Boundless Education Center – no carpools or traffic jams here, just a friendly stroll through the city center.
Living in Pistoia also means daily farmers’ markets, family-run cafés, and gelato shops right at your doorstep. After dropping the kids off at school around 8:30 am, some parents grab a quick espresso or chat in the piazza before starting their workday.
Work and Community at the Hub
After the school drop-off, parents head to the Boundless Coworking Hub to begin their remote workday. The Hub is just a few minutes away and offers a relaxed space filled with fellow parents tapping on laptops. Over coffee, they share tips and laughter, making the workday social instead of isolating. Many will regroup around 12:30 pm to have lunch together, before the afternoon pickup.
Boundless Learning Beyond the Classroom
Meanwhile, the kids dive into hands-on learning at the Boundless Education Center. Boundless Life’s project-based approach lets them absorb lessons by doing, whether it’s a science experiment or a creative project inspired by local culture. One parent notes that this “more expansive version of school” has made her children more curious and excited to learn. Even outside the classroom, they’re eager to explore the world around them – turning everyday walks through town into learning opportunities.

Afternoon: Playtime and Connection
By 3:30 pm, the workday winds down and it’s time to pick up the kids. Today, the children greet their moms with handmade cards for International Women’s Day. After school, families often head to a nearby park so the kids can play off some energy while parents relax and chat on the sidelines. These simple afternoon meetups are a chance for everyone to unwind and connect after a busy day.
Evening: Shared Dinner and Simple Living
In the evening, Boundless families frequently come together for dinner. Tonight, everyone gathers in one family’s cozy apartment for a home-cooked meal. There’s laughter around the table as the parents swap stories and the kids compare notes about school.
Living abroad has taught them to embrace a simpler lifestyle – the host mentions that moving from a big house to a two-bedroom flat was an adjustment, but also a welcome lesson in minimalism. With less space and stuff, they find the family spends more time together, and no one misses the excess.
After dinner, sleepy children are tucked into bed, ending the day on a peaceful note.
Weekends: Adventures and Community Bonds
Weekends are for adventure. Families might pile into a van for a scenic day trip through the Tuscan hills, indulge in gelato in a piazza, let the kids roam at a farm, or join a local festival or soccer game.
Beyond the fun, the Boundless families have become an extended family to one another. They trade favors, share rides, and always lend a hand when someone needs help – creating a support system that makes this community truly feel like home.
This day-in-the-life is just a peek at the Boundless experience in Pistoia – a life filled with learning, laughter, and a sense of belonging. As the Careys would say, every day here is an adventure, and they’ve loved every minute of it.
