I caught up with Cara to learn more about their time in Bali and the Boundless Life location they’ve selected for December 2024!
Hey, Cara! Thanks so much for taking the time to talk to us about your family’s December 3-Week Getaway experience! We’re delighted that you enjoyed Bali so much that you’re ready for a new festive adventure this year.
What was it like spending the festive period in Bali?
The holidays are for sure festive in Bali but the most special thing was witnessing the way the Balinese weave ceremony and the sacred into everyday life through offerings, ritual, ceremony and smiles. Every day is sacred there.
For many families, time away from home at this time of year represents an exciting break from the norm. How did you and your daughter adjust?
We are very close to our families in the US but were actually relieved to get a break from holiday travel in the US and do something different. We plan to spend other times of year with our extended family. It was a long flight from the U.S and the jet lag was something to adjust to but our 7 year old was pretty resilient and got into the swing of things within a week.
Do you have a favourite memory from your time in Bali?
Hard to pick just one: weekends away with other families from around the world, meeting up with old friends who live in Bali, memorable interactions with the local Balinese as well as the Boundless team.
What’s one unexpected benefit your family came away with?
In addition to trips and outings, we loved getting into a routine in our neighborhood and being among the locals. We loved biking to school everyday along the water and finding our favorite cafes. All of this was such a bonding experience for our family. For months after - including up until recently - our daughter will say “I miss Bali.”
Can you tell us which Boundless Life location you are heading to this December and why you selected it?
Andalusia! We’re so excited to meet other families, nestle into a new community and also extend our travel to some other nearby countries while we’re in the region. This is our first trip to Europe as a family and we’re really excited!
