Place-Based Learning in Action
Place-Based Learning is a key element of Boundless Discovery, bringing learning to life through meaningful, real-world engagement. It consists of the interconnected components:
Connection Time – A daily opportunity for students to build community, set intentions, and reflect on learning.
Place-Based Experiences – Facilitator-led, student-centered projects that immerse learners in the local environment, connecting academic concepts to real-world applications.
Boundless Time Projects – Student-led, passion-driven projects where learners explore personal interests using the design-thinking process.
Boundless Forum – A student-led, educator-supported space where learners collaboratively manage their Education Center community. It serves as a safe and inclusive platform for students to:
- Plan events & generate ideas
- Discuss & resolve interpersonal or practical issues
- Bring forward any topic they feel is important.
Beyond fostering problem-solving and collaboration, Boundless Forum empowers students to find and use their voices, cultivating a strong sense of civic responsibility and leadership. To ensure broad participation, the roles of President and Secretary rotate, allowing multiple students to experience leading discussions, reviewing actions, and setting agendas—key skills for global citizens and future leaders.
